Buick is an automobile brand of the U.S. automaker General Motors. The brand competes in the luxury segment of the car market, and typically is compared to similar products from Lexus and Lincoln in the United States. The brand's largest market is in the United States, although it is also sold in Canada, Israel, the Middle East, China, Taiwan, and Mexico. Buick currently produces four models. The Buick LaCrosse is a mid-sized four door sedan that competes against the Lexus ES and the Nissan Maxima, among others. The LaCrosse is powered by either a 3.0 or 3.6 liter V6, and was redesigned for the 2010 model year. The vehicle has received rave reviews, and demand is outstripping supplies of the vehicle so far this year. The Buick Regal is a compact four door sedan that is equipped with a 2.4 liter dual overhead cam direct injection four cylinder that produces 182 horsepower and 20 miles per gallon in city driving.
The Buick Lucerne is a full-size four door sedan that comes standard with a flexible fuel V6 that is able to run on either unleaded gasoline or a blend of ethanol and unleaded gasoline. The car is also available with a super-charged V6 that produced 292 horsepower. The Buick Enclave is a crossover that seats up to eight people and is powered by a 3.6 liter V6 that produces 288 horsepower. Buick had a very good year in 2009. Buick was named by J.D. Power and Associates, along with Jaguar, as the most dependable brand in the United States. Buick showed a huge sales resurgence in 2009 on the strength of the redesigned LaCrosse, continuing strong sales in China, and the popular Enclave crossover. Buick is planning on building on this sales momentum in the future with the introduction of a sporty compact sedan in 2011 that will compete against the Lexus IS and the BMW 3 series.
